This will most likely be my last photo from Penn State for a while. I’m headed back to New Jersey this afternoon and then down to D.C. for the summer (with stops in Nantucket and NYC in between). So look forward to some things from there!

My friend Matt Yarbrough asked me to take a few headshots of him because he’s trying to break into the music industry. He’s an unbelievably talented singer and is auditioning for the massively popular TV show Glee in the coming weeks, and he needed headshots. I was a little apprehensive about helping him out because I had never taken a headshot before. Thankfully, I had the assistance of Penn State’s resident photo master, Andy Colwell, to help me out. It was an interesting switch from the usual me acting as a VAL (voice-activated lightstand) and Andy directing to the opposite for this shoot. I’m very pleased with how these shots turned out and I hope that Matt does well in his audition. I don’t do a lot of portrait photography normally, which is why I was excited to get some studio time in tonight with the Photography Club at Penn State. This here is Andy Colwell, one of my good friends and President of our little club. He asked me to take a few headshots for some press credentials he was having made, but this appeared, most likely after I made some stupid joke (that happens a lot).

I also got to take some shots of my friend Chloe Alpert doing her juggling wizardry. Chloe and I got to know each other through THON, we were both Captains (myself on the Technology Committee, and Chloe doing Public Relations). Chloe’s an awesome graphic designer and an excellent photog in addition to being able to throw multiple things in the air without dropping them.

Anywho, I had fun this evening. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some more time in there.
